Father time remains undefeated. While many artists continue to release music well beyond the heyday of their careers, Young Dolph looks like he’ll be stepping away in the midst of his prime at the age of 35. The Memphis native teased his retirement on Tuesday (March 30) while promoting his sequel joint project Dum and Dummer 2 with Key Glock.
“I hope y’all enjoying the new mixtape, it’s my last project putting out,” he admitted in his caption. “I wasn’t gonna tell y’all but i thought y’all should know im done with music. ENJOY.”

This isn’t the first time the Paper Route EMPIRE boss has hinted at hanging up his mic for good. In March 2020, he spoke about retiring to spend more time with his kids but ended up releasing his Rich Slave album a few months later.

“I’m done doing music so I can go kick it with my son,” Dolph stated at the time. “Key Glock is already poised to be the new torchbearer.”
If this is indeed the end, Young Dolph can focus on grooming the artists on his emerging Paper Route EMPIRE label which boasts a lineup that includes Key Glock, Kenny Muney, Jay Fizzle and the burgeoning Big Moochie Grape.

Dolph’s 2020 Rich Slave album earned him the best position on the Billboard 200 of his career when it peaked inside the Top 5 at No. 4. He’s notched a lone top 40 appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 when he assisted on O.T. Genesis’ “Cut It” in 2016.
