At approximately 6:40 am Sunday morning (December 23), Bad Boy South rapper Yung Joc was apprehended in Cleveland’s Hopkins International Airport for transporting a loaded handgun through a security checkpoint.
The 24-year-old rapper was arrested and is being held in Cuyahoga County Jail for a local crime, although he may be subject to federal charges from violating the Air Piracy Act.
No spokespeople from Bad Boy, Atlantic Records or Block Entertainment have come forward yet. It is unclear what the Atlanta-based artist was doing in Cleveland.
One of the bigger rap stars of 2006, Joc found platinum success behind his hit single “It’s Goin’ Down” from his debut New Joc City. This year’s sophomore effort Hustlenomics failed to meet the previous success, but generated another chart-worthy single in “Coffee Shop.”
