Megan Thee Stallion just added yet another gold plaque to her collection.
On Thursday (March 4), the Houston native’s latest single “Body” was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) – bringing her official gold tally to a cool dozen.
The music video immediately sparked the fan-made #BodyOdyChallenge on social media upon its arrival alongside Meg’s debut album Good News in November. It grew even bigger just days later when she performed the song at the American Music Awards and then joined in on the challenge herself the following morning.
In January, Meg extended the song’s life even further when she tapped “WAP” director Colin Tilley for a dance video for “Body,” separate of the track’s music video.
The 17-song Good News debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 100,500 album-equivalent units and features from DaBaby, City Girls, Lil Durk, SZA, Popcaan, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Beyoncé (on the “Savage (Remix)”) and Young Thug. The Beyoncé-assisted “Savage” from the effort is up for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Record of the Year at the 2021 Grammys, while Meg also scored a Best New Artist nomination as well.
