After successful albums in recent years from DJ Khaled and DJ Drama, the next deejay releasing a major label album may likely be Los Angeles’ DJ Felli Fel. Today it was announced that the Heavy Hitter inked a deal with Island Def Jam/So So Def. Felli Fel told HipHopDX, “It’s an honor to be working alongside Jermaine Dupri and L.A. Reid, I’m excited to show the world what I have to offer as a producer from a deejay’s point of view, and what better platform to be on than Island Def Jam/So So Def.

With the deal, Felli Fel announced his first single, “Let’s Get Buck In Here,” featuring Akon, Diddy, Ludacris and Lil Jon. The deal comes in the same year Dupri signed Hot Dolla to his imprint, an artist that many considered to have been broken by Felli Fel.

The deejay will continue his post as mixshow director at Los Angeles’ Power 106 station. Felli has also released mixtapes with The Game, WC and others and produced for Xzibit and Guerilla Black. No word yet on the album title or precise release date.
