The Alchemist Welcomes 1st Child Amid Wildly Productive Year In Hip Hop

The Alchemist has been pumping out material all year even as the COVID-19 pandemic wages on. He dropped four albums in 2020 alone, including his solo project The Food Villain, the wildly well received collaboration with Freddie Gibbs, Alfredo, and LULU with Conway The Machine. But perhaps his best creation is his first child.

On Saturday (December 26), the veteran beatsmith shared a photo of the newborn baby to his Instagram account with the caption, “2020. What a year.”

His reveal was met with a slew of congratulatory comments from notable names such as Ebro Darden, Action Bronson, Mobb Deep’s Havoc, Evidence, Statik Selektah, The Beat Junkies’ DJ Babu, Pharoahe Monch and Cormega.

Alchemist is up for multiple HipHopDX Year End Awards this year, including Best Hip Hop Producer and Best Hip Hop Album for the aforementioned Alfredo with Gangsta Gibbs.

The Beverly Hills, California native also received a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Hip Hop Album category for Alfredo alongside Jay Electronica’s A Written Testimony, Nas’ The King’s Disease, Royce Da 5’9’s The Allegory and D Smoke’s Black Habits.

Alfredo, which served as the duo’s follow-up to 2018’s Fetti with Curren$y, pulled in a 4.5 rating at DX compared to the perfect 5.0 rating for Bandana, his 2019 collaboration with Madlib but is still considered a “master class in rap.”

      1. Some folks look to live their lives out a bit before having a kid. Not everyone is out here having Bebe kids in their teens.

    1. When this kid starts banging on pots and pans in the kitchen, it’ll be a better beat than anything his father has made in his whole career. Most overrated producer of all time.

      1. If Alan breathes just one time, he’s doing more good for this world than you will be able to do in a whole lifetime.
