The release date for Drake’sCertified Lover Boy album remains top secret, but Odell Beckham Jr. nearly let the cat out of the bag. Appearing on the All Things Covered podcast, the Cleveland Browns wide receiver revealed Drake’s plan to deliver his highly anticipated album when the ball drops at midnight on New Year’s Day 2021.

“Lover Boy dropping 2021,” he shared with co-hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden. “Drizzy I got you on the drop, dropping January 1, 2021. When the ball drops, the album drops. I might have heard a couple [tracks] but not much.”

Once the words left OBJ’s lips, they nearly set the internet ablaze, but Akademiks claims he spoke to The Boy himself and Drake told him the January 1 release date isn’t the case anymore, as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

“According to Drake, January 1st 2021 WAS gonna be the date for the release of ‘Certified Lover Boy’ before he got injured,” Ak relayed. “So OBJ probably thought it was still the date.. it’s not tho.”
