Lil Tecca fittingly hopped in the ring for the visual to his new single “Royal Rumble.” Premiered on his 18th birthday Wednesday (August 26), the now-legal adult fights for his championship belt in the Omar Jones-directed clip.

The track is expected to live on Tecca’s debut album, Virgo World, though he’s yet to give fans a release date for the project. To date, the teen sensation has released only one body of work – his 2019 mixtape, We Love You Tecca. The feat was fueled by the success of his breakout single “Ransom” and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

In June, Tecca released the Internet Money-produced single “Out of Love” from a joint project he’s working on with the pair of producers. On the track, he inadvertently paid homage to slain rapper Huey, referencing his 2007 hit “Pop, Lock & Drop It” in the lyrics.

“She wanna pop it, lock it, drop it, I’m so up, stop it/Tinted windows ridin’ ’round ’cause I’m poppin’/She wanna come, my bitch showin’ no love/Toxic,” he says on the hook.

Huey was gunned down in his neighborhood on June 25, just five days before the track premiered and thus merely a coincidence – but a raw one nonetheless.
