So here it is kids, the moment of truth!! Though after all of the pre-sale numbers and projection reports, it’s no shocker…Kanye West‘s Graduation holds the #1 spot on the charts selling an impressive 957k in its first week!  Kanye has officially come out as the victor after a months of feuding with 50 Cent over who’s album would sell better. Congrats Ye!

Coming in with 691k sold is 50‘s Curtis.  Almost 300k less than his competitor.  Either way, it was a great day for Hip Hop, and so we congratulate 50 as well!  Let’s see if these albums can hold their impressive numbers in the few weeks to follow as well…

Timbaland was the maestro for the recent MTVVMA awards, and performed multiple times.  Perhaps all the exposure caused his 13 place jump from #26 on the charts to #13.  Timbaland Presents Shock Value sold 27k this week (642k total).  Common‘s Finding Forever also climbed 3 spots to #17 selling 26k (353k total).

In his third week, Yung Joc‘s Hustlenomics has slipped from #11 to # 30, selling 17k copies this week (114k total).  Underground rapper Aesop Rock‘s major publicity push on MTV bumped him up 6 spots to #96 this week.  None Shall Pass sold 6k this week (25k total).
