Meek Mill Shares Police Brutality Photo From His Youth

Meek Mill took a moment to sadly remind his followers that issues with police brutality are certainly not new.

On Wednesday (May 27), amid growing outrage over George Floyd’s police killing, Meek shared a photo of the aftermath of an encounter with cops in his days before fame. With a swollen eye and multiple bandages on his face, the Philadelphia-born rhymer provided tangible proof of how dangerous these encounters can be for minorities with the people being paid to protect and serve.

“Mom my took this pic and filed it with internal affairs, nothing happened!” Meek wrote in the caption. “I been a rebel since!!! #georgefloyd I got charges for breaking one of the cops hands also like he didn’t break his hand on my face!”

Meek has been continuing his mission for prison reform throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, donating 100,000 masks to the prison system with JAY-Z just last month. The donation was made through the pair’s REFORM Alliance organization, with the goal of protecting both inmates and correctional staff at Rikers Island in New York, the Tennessee Department of Corrections and the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman.

The latter prison has held a particular point of interest for Hov, who along with Yo Gotti on behalf of Roc Nation’s social justice department, has already filed two lawsuits against them this year for their poor treatment of inmates.

    1. Meek don’t even try to compare yourself to George. You’re NOTHING like George you clown. This the same nigga rapping about violence against his own community and gun talk. Look how this mf trying to make this about his self too….”I been a rebel ever since” bitch foh. This the same idiot who got locked up for posting pics of him with guns while on parole. RIP George Floyd, hope you get the justice you deserve.

      1. ”you’re nothing like George” huh? This message must be coming from a place OG anger and hate. George could’ve been any one of us and the fact that he has been a victim to police brutality shows yea he could’ve been another black male in George’s shoes. Relax breathe for George

    2. He looked like a walking skid mark to me even back then….still looks like a bitch now… just without the extension lol

    3. Dude acting like he was an angel back then. He probably was a drug dealin, disrespectful loud mouth acting tough

    4. So rappers talk about smackin people if they dont listen or shut up then cops do it to them and they cry about it to keep their irrelevant career relevant? Shits stupid

    5. The burning of buildings should be symbolic And carefully chosen. I would like to see more structure and organization during these riots.

      1. Structure and organization… You do know you’re talking about black people here, right?? Only time you can unite is when there is safety in numbers to be had when you’re looting and burning your own neighborhoods down… Go rid the world of the zimmermans instead of make yourselves look like a bunch of raging baboons.

        1. What about all those rich Pedophiles you hide behind and protect so much. Where do you have the right to call black people baboons and white people or always having sex with underage kids and animals. We don’t own those neighborhoods white people do. So it’s still y’all shit that y’all are making money off black people. Every time blacks have tried to own some land white people have burned down I slaughtered those that on it. So it’s not ours it’s your shit.

    6. If this was Kanye people would say he was just trying to stay in the spotlight, but it’s Meek so it’s all good. This isn’t about you Meek.

    7. I love you Meek but some will never understand, she hasn’t do anything that the white hasn’t already done, and got rich off just because she’s a black woman it’s so bad. It’s so sad how we beat our own down first. That’s why we can’t get the respect we’re asking for because we don’t show unity or respect ✊? for one another.
