Music Nation, a community-based artist development site, hosts a 12-week competition for unsigned/independent musicians who stand a chance to win a record contract (with Epic Records/Original Signal). In addition, the artists can win many other prizes including a custom Green Lantern mixtape, appearance on Spitkicker’s “the Next Spit” compilation, a Sony Vaio, and more.
The way the competition was set up, Music Nation community members voted on artists’ videos alongside a panel of celebrity industry judges consisting of 9th Wonder, DJ Green Lantern, and Saigon. The choices for quarterfinalists, all of which can be viewed here, were as follows:
