The first posthumous Juice Wrld single has arrived as promised. Titled “Righteous,” the song was recorded at the late rapper’s Los Angeles studio prior to his December 2019 death.

Juice pumped out two studio albums during his short-lived career, including 2018’s Goodbye & Good Riddanceand 2019’s Death Race For Love. He reportedly passed away with over 2,000 songs in his arsenal, so there will likely be more unreleased material coming down the pipeline in the near future. Whether these songs will be released in the form of an album or more singles, and the timeline of their release is still unknown.

Until then, check out “Righteous” above.

Although Juice Wrld may not be here in the physical sense, his music lives on. According to an Instagram post from the late rapper’s family, his first posthumous single arrives on Friday (April 24) at midnight EST.

The family made an official statement on Thursday (April 23).

“Juice was a prolific artist who dedicated his life to making music,” the statement reads. “Choosing how to share his upcoming music with the world has been no easy feat. Honoring the love Juice felt for his fans while shining a light on his talents and his spirit are the most important parts of this process to us.

It continues, “Tonight we will be releasing a song called “Righteous” which Juice made from his home studio in Los Angeles. We hope you enjoy the new music and continue to keep Juice’s spirit alive. Stay safe everyone.”

As noted in the Instagram post, Juice’s mother Carmella Wallace announced the Live Free 999 Fund earlier this week. With support from Grade A and Interscope Records, the fund will provide access to education, prevention, and treatment options for opioid addiction and other forms of drug abuse.

“Young people around the world were truly touched by Jarad’s music because he spoke to issues and situations in his music that resonated with them so deeply,” Wallace said in a press release. “I was aware of his struggles with addiction, anxiety, and depression; we had many conversations about his challenges with these issues.”
