Just days after announcing iconic producers Teddy Riley and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds would go head-to-head in a 20-round beat battle, Swizz Beatz has postponed the event.
According to Swizz, it’s still going down — and will be worth the wait.
“The date is changed, but keep your outfits on deck because the new date is coming back ASAP,” Swizz wrote via Instagram. “We’re taking the quality to the next levels for these 2 Kings. You will understand later, trust me.”
He also reassured fans there won’t be any substitutions.
“Nobody backed out FYI,” he noted.
Since Swizz and Timbaland got the ball rolling with their Instagram Live battle, fans have fallen in love with the format. In the comments of his announcement, some wondered if the quest for quality would inevitably kill the vibe of the whole experience by making it too polished.
“We need quality, but [still need it to] be simple,” Swizz told one fan.
He added, “You’ll thank me later.”

Should be an interesting battle.
Every new R&B album I listen to it seems like Babyface has a record on it. My money is on him.
Dope! Which albums be produced recently? Put me on family!
I don’t mean recent, when I’m checking older rNb albums for first time.
Oh right I hear you, yeah man his catalogue is extensive!
nothing interesting about this battle and why does the level of quality have to be elevated for these 2 and not all the other participants that battled before? they should keep it hip-hop, deplete those battles, then move on to other genre’s.
