Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has landed in the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart for the second holiday season in a row with 35.1 million streams — despite Christmas still being 13 days away.

But Macklemore is here to challenge the pop diva with “It’s Christmas Time” featuring U.K. soul singer Dan Capler and his eldest daughter Sloane, his first holiday-themed song.[apple_news_ad type=”any”]

With references to holiday film classics such as A Christmas Story and A Wonderful Life, the track seamlessly ties together past and present with his signature sense of humor peppered throughout.

“Every year around Christmas time I think to myself, ‘Just do it Ben. Make the song. You can be the new Mariah Carey,'” Macklemore wrote on Instagram. “Well, this year I finally am.”
