Atlanta, GA

Yung Bans has apparently beat his 2016 murder charge. On Monday night (December 2), Bans told his Twitter followers he was finally off house arrest and ready to get back to business.

“Just got off house arrest and beat my case after 4 years,” he wrote. “I think it’s time to get up a tour where y’all want me to come?”

Bans was arrested for felony murder and burglary in the first degree in February 2016 but denied the charges. After some time inside a juvenile detention center, he was sentenced to house arrest.

According to XXL, Bans pleaded guilty to burglary in the first degree and received a 10-year probation sentence as a result. The felony murder charge was dropped.

Bans was only 16 years old at the time of the incident. Prosecutors explained Bans was in a getaway car with Maxx Pritchett when Mark Spencer and Lil’ Che Stafford broke into Jose Greer’s Atlanta apartment.

Out of fear, Greer jumped off his balcony and ultimately died of his injuries. Spencer and Stafford were convicted of murder in October 2018 and received life sentences.

The Atlanta-bred rapper released his debut album, Misunderstood, in July.
