The past 10 years have been great for Silentó, who recently topped Vevo’s top Hip Hop videos of the decade on account of his “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” monster dance smash.

To usher in a new era, the 21-year-old star has linked with HipHopDX to premiere his new single “Drip,” which he proudly patents after his own stature.

“‘Drip’ is about how I created myself mentally and physically and basically letting my peers know I’m the OG when it comes to being creative and being myself,” Silentó tells DX. “And no matter how much people try to duplicate my likeness and apply it to personal benefits that I will always be the original instead of trying to be someone else. Drip means style!!”

And when it comes to his recent Vevo placement, he felt the achievement spoke for itself.

“See fame is when people know you and notoriety is when people know your work and notoriety leave a legacy. When they talk about bigger ranking I don’t have to say a word that’s why my name is Silentó: ‘less talk more action.’”
