CHICAGO, IL

With COVID-19 restrictions loosening across America, Lollapalooza announced on Wednesday (May 19) that their 2021 festival is returning to Grant Park on July 29 and will be running through August 1. The festival is expected to operate at full capacity for attendees as well.

The Hip Hop portion of the lineup is lead by headliner Post Malone, Tyler, The Creator, DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Jack Harlow, Polo G, Freddie Gibbs, Saint JHN, Toosii and many more.

Four-day ticket packages are currently on sale at the Lollapalooza website with single-day tickets slated to be available at a later date. General admission passes are going for $375. Festivalgoers will have to show proof of vaccination or a PCR COVID-19 test within 24 hours of the festival.

“Certainly an outdoor setting is lower risk than an indoor setting and when we pair that with the agreement that the people attending will be vaccinated or tested every day that really is about as low risk a setting as we can have,” said Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady. “And so we felt confident that we would be able to move ahead without capacity restrictions.”

She continued, “Certainly from a planning perspective, you know, the organizers of all events know that it’s possible things could change with COVID, but we expect at this point that we would be able to have that event at full capacity.”
