Drake Booed Off Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival Stage

Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival went down at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles over the weekend. During Sunday night’s (November 10) set, fans were expecting to see Frank Ocean close out the show but instead, they got a surprise guest — Drake.

Evidently, the crowd wasn’t pleased with the last-minute switch up and made it painfully clear for Drizzy they wanted Ocean with a “We want Frank” chant. Drake even offered to stay a little longer, but the audience wasn’t having it.

As noted by TMZ, Drake appeared to receive the message. After thanking the Camp Flog Gnaw attendees, he seemed to end his set early before quickly exiting the stage.

“Like I said, I’m here for you tonight,” he said after performing “Wu-Tang Forever.” “If you want to keep going, I will keep going.” He added, “It’s been love. I go by the name of Drake. Thank you all for having me.”

The Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival boasted additional performances from Yasiin Bey, Juice WRLD, Solange, YG, Brockhampton, DaBaby, 21 Savage, H.E.R. and, of course, Tyler.

    1. That’s a younger demographic. To them Drake is a old head . Drake should be doing world tours not trying to appease the children.

    2. Nah theres no words to describe how disrespectful the crowd was to not only Drake but also Tyler cause T probably would’ve never thought about getting one of his heroes like Drake on stage back then and when he gets that chance these snobby Californian mfs just told him to get lost and they even went out of their way to burn merch all cause Tyler wanted to have one of his idols perform… cancel culture losers being toxic per usual tho… disgusted.

    3. It’s funny, all these Tyler/Frank fans would argue there isn’t enough inclusiveness in hip-hop and here they are pushing away someone who tried to be a part of something different. It’s easy to laugh at Drake but a lot of rappers wouldn’t have handled that situation as well as he did. I hope Tyler hops on Twitter and tells his fans to grow up.

    4. Yasiin Bey gives the absolute worst live shows. Saw his 20th anniversary show for Black on Both Sides. Dude would play a 2 min sample intro, rap 1 song slightly off beat, then spin around in circles and drop rose petals all over the stage, taking 5 min breaks at least between songs. Pharaoh Monche got the crowd more hyped with one song then he did all concert. Ms. Fat Booty didn’t even get the crowd moving. Dude was high as a kite too. Such a shame, should’ve been a historic concert. Dude has moved on from the game.

      1. Not at all. Nobody destroys a culture. They just sell more. True hiphop has been underground for decades. Many decades. Perhaps almsog since it’s existence. I don’t like Drake, never listen to anything he’s ever made, with that said, if a rapper is truly so dman good, then they WILL get big. Example would be someone like Jon Connor, WH owas dropped from Dres Aftermath, but if he continues the same path of his past projects, he will certainly become very popular. The culture still exists, but hiphop in general is BUSINESS. All music genres lean towards pop, because females like it, and females drive popular music, as they listen to radio, streaming ect, while men are still likely to download illegally and shit, and not put money in the pockets of pop stars.

        1. Business doesn’t have to be low quality product. Also you dont have to be a crying sissy to attract women to your music. Pac was (and still is) extremely popular with female listeners. Did he sound like a whiny little girl, did he shed tears bc some stripper didnt call him back?

    5. Drake is a real one! Put it this way… You put Drake VS Tupac/Biggie in a battle of the better albums, and Drake comes out on top. That’s real shit, man. There’s a reason Drake is breaking all kinds of music records like the Beatles. Pac and Big couldn’t have competed, and would have been in similar shoes as Ice Cube, making children’s movies, and not rap music.

      1. Stop comparing a RnB artist to biggie and pac bruh. Compare drake with dudes like Chris Brown, trey songs, neyo and those other RnB cats. Biggie and pac made hip hop albums. Drake makes RnB albums sprinkled with a few hip POP tracks.

    6. Some of the comments on here need to remember they booed drake becuase they wanted instead the gay sing-rap performer Frank Ocean with frankly a similar sound as Drake and Tyler. It’s fine to hate on Drake but don’t come on here celebrating as if with this is some “real hiphop” moment. These were sensitive bookworm trust fund hipster kids hating on Drake . These weren’t hardcore hiphop fans but the worst kind of trust fund cornball hipsters with hairbuns. Pathetic losers.

    7. Good on you Drake, if the fans ain’t feeling the switch, it’s ok to end early. I’m not a fan at all, but he handled that like an adult, respect.

    8. Props for handling it gracefuly but seriously if you tell someone their gettin lobster then you pull it out and put some steak there instead its gonna piss everyone off dont bait and switch fans especialy last minute

    9. They booed him because they wanted to see Frank? Mustve been an LGBTQ event because no straight man should be watching Frank Ocean live….
