London-based rapper Dizzee Rascal will release his next album, Maths & English (XL Beggars Group) in the U.S. on June 5. According to Billboard.com, the album will only be serviced to digital outlets in North America because Rascal has had more success in the U.K. This is a first for the label.
The 14-track album will feature collaborations with fellow U.K.-dwellers, UKG and Lily Allen amongst others.
Maths & English is the follow-up to his 2004 sophomore album, Showtime, which has sold about 16,000 units in the U.S. according to soundscan. The number was a significant dip from the 58,000 units sold by his 2003 debut, Boy in Da Corner.

The two drastically varying statistics were what persuaded XL/Beggars to go the cost-effective route with a digital version of Maths & English outside of the U.K.
The album will be available at every digital retailer the label has a deal with, including, iTunes, eMusic, and the recently launched, New York-based retailer, Other Music
