As Murs prepares to drop his 9th Wonder & The Sound Council collaborative album, The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over, the Strange Music alum has shared another snippet from the project called “High Noon.”
The mellow track finds 9th reuniting with his Laila’s Wisdom prodigy Rapsody and also boasts a feature from Reuben Vincent as well as production from 9th’s 15-year-old daughter JDEAFBEATS.
9th’s daughter wasn’t even born when Murs and 9th first started working together in the early 2000s.
“It’s amazing what my baby can do,” 9th Wonder said in a press release. “What she has been able to accomplish while only making beats for two-years, born with a profound hearing loss. I guess she is just born with the gift to feel.”

Rapsody added, “Making ‘High Noon’ was one of the funniest times I’ve had working with another artist. It started as a Patagucci joke, and turned into a jam where Murs and I got to flex and have fun at the same time. I haven’t gone back and forth on verses in a while. It was dope to create in that way again — just spitting.”
The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over is expected to arrive on August 9.
Ahead of its release, Murs and 9th’s 2016 joint project Brighter Daze will finally be available on all DSP’s this Friday (July 19). It features the late Mac Miller, Rapsody, Bad Lucc and more.
