William James Dennis, known to the Hip Hop world as Willie D, is making a run for Houston City Council. The outspoken rapper is hoping to take his passion for discussing politics on social media to having direct influence with a council seat.
The Houston native took to Instagram to announce his run for District B and asked for support from his tenured fans. “What’s better than one Geto Boy running for City Council? It’s on family,” he captioned on the post. “This is the next step in my evolution to serve and I need your help!”
His fellow Geto Boys legend Scarface announced he was a candidate for District D in June. In an act of solidarity, Facemob saluted and encouraged Willie D in the comment section of the post writing, “Congrats Will!! What better way to make change in our community From it, of it and love it!!”
