Dave East isn’t the only rapper in the cast of Hulu’s upcoming drama Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga. In an interview with Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez, Joey Bada$$ revealed he is playing Inspectah Deck in the series.
“Me and Dave East is in [the] Wu-Tang [series],” Joey told Martinez. “I’m Inspectah Deck.”
When Martinez asked how much of the show has been shot, the Pro Era MC said the RZA-helmed series is currently in production.
“We’re still shooting, but it comes out this year though,” he noted. “It’s going good. Any time I ain’t really gotta be there every day, it’s going great!”

Martinez then questioned Joey about the show’s authenticity. The Beast Coast member — who has acted in BET’s Boomerang and USA’s Mr. Robot — said he’s waiting to see it like everyone else but thinks it’s doing Wu-Tang justice.
“It’s pretty on point, from what I’ve seen, like just from the scenes that I’ve been a part of,” he recounted. “It’s pretty on point. I like what they’re doing. I like how they doing it.”
Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga was created by RZA and Alex Tse, whose credits include the 2009 film Watchmen and the 2018 reboot of Superfly.
Method Man is serving as an executive producer. GZA, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa and the Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard are also involved as consulting producers.
