YNW Melly is reportedly seeking bail — despite facing two first-degree murder charges in South Florida.

In court documents obtained by TMZ, Melly and his legal team say he should be able to post bond and remain out of jail until his trial. They insist he’s not a flight risk and promises he would remain in Florida until he has his day in court.

The 19-year-old rapper’s counsel points out he voluntarily turned himself in to authorities and could’ve fled when he initially learned he was facing capital murder charges. They also reminded the court his entire family lives in the area, which means he’d be staying close.

According to the docs, Melly appears confident he’ll beat the case. There’s reportedly no murder weapon, witnesses tying him to the shooting, DNA evidence or motive.

Melly stands accused of killing YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy last October and then staging the scene to make it look like a drive-by shooting. He and his alleged accomplice, Cortlen Henry, reportedly drove around with the two dead bodies for hours trying to come up with a plausible story.

Both Melly and Henry have pleaded not guilty.

The State of Florida isn’t convinced. Prosecutors say they have proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Melly and Henry are responsible for the crimes. The State is seeking the death penalty for Melly.
