Los Angeles, CA

21 Savage was stopped by TMZ while leaving Hollywood restaurant TAO on Monday night (May 20). He was asked about Kodak Black, who was arrested before he could perform at the Rolling Loud Music Festival in Miami last weekend on weapons charges.

Kodak’s latest debacle added to an already large list of legal troubles, including an arrest for weapons and drug possession in New York and rape charges in South Carolina.

Kodak could be facing more charges, as prosecutors believe fingerprint and gun evidence links him to a shooting targeted at a rival rapper last March.

When asked if he thought Kodak was being set up, 21 shrugged, “I don’t know what’s going on, man. I hope for the best, though. The law is the law. You break the law, you gotta deal with the consequences.”

21 is also facing a difficult legal situation and could possibly be deported to the United Kingdom.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested him in February for staying past his visa. He was released from their custody after a little over a week, but his case is far from over.

In regard to Kodak, 21 summed up the complicated nature of the situation with, “There’s some unfair shit goin’ on, and there’s some shit that’s fair goin’ on.”
