Rocking a Nipsey Hussle hoodie, DJ Khaled stepped on the Saturday Night Live stage on Saturday (May 18) to pay tribute to the slain rapper alongside Meek Mill and John Legend.

During the medley performance, the trio did live renditions of “Just Us,” “Weather The Storm” and “Higher,” all tracks taken from Khaled’s recently released Father of Asahdalbum.

When it was time for the “Higher” portion of the show, which Nip was originally featured on, Legend took a seat at the piano while a portrait of Nipsey’s face loomed overhead.

The Nipsey tribute was the second set of the night for Khaled. SZA, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Jeremih, Lil Baby and J Balvin joined him for a medley of “Jealous” and “You Stay” earlier in the evening.

At the end of the performance, Khaled said, “Long live Nipsey Hussle. The marathon continues.”

Nip was fatally shot on March 31 outside of his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles, sending shockwaves through the entire Hip Hop community. He was 33.
