Perhaps it’s his degree in psychology, but underground rap vet Sadistik (real name Cody Foster) has built a career out of wearing his emotions on his sleeve. With every word he spits, he’s able to reach deep inside and express what his soul is feeling. His new video for “Burning Lakes” is no exception.
Throughout the track, the Washington-bred artist creates a ominous yet oddly familiar soundscape that defines Sadistik’s signature style.
The song comes from his latest album, Haunted Gardens, which was released on April 20. The project — which follows 2017’s Altar — peaked at No. 3 on the iTunes Rap/Hip Hop chart, No. 37 on iTunes Top 100 and No. 1 on Bandcamp.
Sadistik kicks off a North American tour in support of Haunted Gardens on June 5 in Seattle.
