Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror is a ghetto gothic anthology featuring three gory stories presented in violent vignettes similar to Tales From The Crypt, according to hnnlive.com. The movie features a frightening blend of live action horror and gore-filled, supernatural anime sequences created by Japan’s Madhouse (Animatrix, Tokyo Godfather, Vampire Hunter D) under the supervision of Academy Award winner John Gaeta (TheMatrix Trilogy) and has been rated R by the MPAA for strong violence, gore, sexuality, nudity and language.
Variety described the film as “Gleefully disgusting,” and an industry insider said, “This is the first studio quality horror film I’ve seen in a long time unapologetic in its offensiveness and blood splattered gore. In addition to Snoop Dogg, the film stars Daniella Alonso ( Maxim, The Hills Have Eyes 2), Pooch Hall (The Game), Billy Dee Williams, Brande Roderick (Starsky & Hutch; Baywatch: Hawaii), Jason Alexander, Method Man, Ernie Hudson ( Ghostbusters I & II; The Hand that Rocks the Cradle), Aries Spears (Mad TV), and NBA stars Lamar Odom and Tayshaun Prince.
Directed by Academy Award nominee Stacy Title (The Last Supper, Down at the Waterfront), Snoop plays “The Hound of Hell,” guiding movie watchers through three terrifying tales including a tagger who finds out that not all gangstas die hard, a spoiled heir to a Texas oil dynasty who murders for money but can’t pay to stay alive, and a major rap star who discovers he’s got a few skeletons in his dressing room, literally.
Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror is scheduled for release on May 4th.
