Lizzo’s choice of attire spoke volumes during her recent performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

As she belted out “Juice,” one of the lead singles from her Cuz I Love You debut, the burgeoning star wore a black and white Crenshaw jersey as did her onstage entourage. On the back, the word Marathon was emblazoned across the top.

The gesture was a clear nod to the late Nipsey Hussle who was killed on March 31 in front of his Marathon Clothing store at the intersection of Crenshaw and Slauson. Since his death, orders have exploded at the Marathon store. Employees are currently fielding over 2 million orders.

The Houston-born artist thanked Marathon Clothing in an Instagram post.

“FOR. THE. CULTURE. Gave JUICE a whole new meaning last night on @jimmykimmellive,” she wrote. “@quinnwilsonn @jemelmcwilliams creative dir/choreography @marko_monroe @theshelbyswain styling @iwantalexx beat my face.

“@mrdevinaire music dir thank you to @shimmyleee @jami3ros3 @cquestt for letting their hearts dance- I wanna thank @themarathonclothing for opening their doors to us. #tmc – thank u @honeybgold for the custom jewelry – #CUZILOVEYOU OUT NOW.”

Lizzo has already released two visuals for “Juice.” The first arrived in January and delivered a “Soul Glo” vibe while the second (released this week) featured RuPaul Drag Race queens.

Cuz I Love You dropped on Friday (April 19).
