Cardi B leads the pack with 21 nominations for the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. Voted the Top Rap Female Artist last year, Cardi falls short of the record number of award nominations, which is 22, held by both Drake and The Chainsmokers in 2017.
In addition to receiving more nominations than any other artist this year, the Bronx native is also nominated in 18 different categories–more than any of her competitors. She’s nominated twice in three categories and will compete against herself in Top Hot 100 Song, Top Selling Song and Top Collaboration.
Following her lead is Drake and Post Malone, each with 17 nominations. Travis Scott follows close behind with 12 and XXXTENTACION is nominated for 10.
Two fan-voted categories have been launched for this year’s ceremony, the Top Social Artist and the Billboard Chart Achievement Award. The 2019 Billboard Music Awards will take place in Las Vegas on May 1.
