Before Black Twitter became the authority for pointing out cultural irregularities, there was The Boondocks.

The socially “woke” comic strip was created by Aaron McGruder back in 1996, becoming Hip Hop ally through appearances in The Source magazine and its critically acclaimed Adult Swim cartoon series.

Since the television series went off the air in 2014, McGruder has focused on his other Adult Swim creation Black Jesus. But on Tuesday (February 5), he called upon Charlamagne Tha God’s Instagram reach to spread a new and relevant comic he crafted, simply because he felt like it.

“Did these for fun (and to see if I still could),” McGruder wrote through the Breakfast Club host’s social media medium. “More to come… exactly how much more is tough to say. These strips were only possible due to the enormous talent of my good friend Seung Kim, who did the animation for the old show – and he’s a busy guy. Thanks to him and thanks to Charlamagne for putting these out for me while I get my Instagram act together.”

The impromptu comic finds series antagonist Uncle Ruckus being interrogating as a member of Donald Trump’s controversial cabinet before drawing the ire of Huey, Riley and Granddad.
