Producer Chase Moore has cooked up an ominous beat for Blimes’ latest single, “My Dance.” In the accompanying video, the explosive Bay Area-bred MC gets up close and personal as she opens up about her struggles with depression and importance of spirituality.

“When Chase played me this beat, I immediately caught revival of the steeze and confidence that growing up in the Bay and listening to Bay Area rappers instilled in me,” Blimes tells HipHopDX. “The hook is my acknowledgement to the fact I’m no dancer, but I’m damn sure gonna do my dance until I feel comfortable doing it.

“I hope y’all feel comfortable doing yours too!!! Since the beat was so saucy and the message is hella important to me, I had to throw this one in the video bag with a quickie in London while I was on tour last year.”

Blimes, who’s been jet-setting around the country with fellow MC Gifted Gab as B.A.G., is prepping her forthcoming solo album, Castles. A press release promises the project is a “reflective and personal journey conveyed through honest wordplay, witty punchlines and sweet, soulful serenades.”
