After ten
years of being one of the most prevalent and recognizable members of the Flipmode Squad,Rah Digga has decided to leave. The New Jersey rapper has departed from the
collective, which features other members Busta
Rhymes
and Spliff Star.

During her
tenure as Flipmode’s only female
member, Digga only released one
album – Dirty Harriet – in 2000, as
well as a slew of mixtape appearances.

We’ve been together for damn near a
decade and I haven’t had any success you know, coming out with a follow up
album and I just felt like it was time to move on and make different decision,”
she told
Allhiphop.com, “We are at this stage, Flipmode as a crew, everyone’s been
pretty much focused on their own endeavors. Busta’s doing his thing on Aftermath. I mean it was already
established before he even got down with Aftermath, it wasn’t gonna be a Flipmode movement over there.”

“I was
working on my album at J Records that was supposed to be released in 2003 and
then s**t went awry with them, so after that I was just pretty much keeping my
buzz going in the mixtape circuit. After awhile, I just got a little tired of
that. I felt like I was just giving away rhymes and doing whole albums and not
making a dime from it,”

According
to recent interviews Rah Digga has a
film coming out on DVD between April and May, where she plays an FBI agent, and
likens the movie to Training Day. In addition
to this, Digga has also appeared in
2001’s Thirteen Ghosts and Carmen: A Hip-Hopera.

Despite
these other ventures, Digga is staying
with the rap game (though she denies the rumors that she is joining an all
female rap group with Remy Ma, Shawnna, and
Jacki-O). Look out for Rah Digga’s next album, Sucker Free to be released by way of
iTunes this summer.
