HipHopDX Premiere

Minneapolis-based artist Sophia Eris isn’t a household name quite yet, but she’s been bubbling beneath the surface for years. From working with the late Prince to touring with burgeoning Detroit MC Lizzo as a DJ, she’s been steadily emerging as a voracious force in the industry.

Now, she’s looking to make a big splash in her blossoming career with the first single from her inaugural solo project, “Who’s Got The Boom.” Produced by Lazerbeak of Doomtree fame and Bionik, the track borrows heavily from L’Trimm’s 1988 hit “Cars That Go Boom.”

“‘Who’s Got The Boom’ is an anthem I wanted to create to empower, inspire and, most importantly, dance away any negativity you may feel with the world around you,” Sophia tells HipHopDX. “I want everyone to be able to discover the BOOM they have within themselves to make the world see, feel and hear it.”

Sophia is currently hard at work on her forthcoming project, which features more beat magic from Lazerbeak and Bionik (Ice-T, Aceyalone, Far East Movement).
