Los Angeles-based rapper Charles X has released three albums over the past three years, including 2015’s Revolutionand the Day After, 2016’s Sounds of the Yesteryear and 2017’s Peace. Consequently, his international fan base has grown exponentially, especially in France.

Now, the 26-year-old is aiming to continue that momentum with his new single, “Prozac.”

“For me, the song ‘Prozac’ is a first glimpse of my animal side,” he tells HipHopDX. “I wrote the song because a lot of people were thinking I was rich and famous because of all of the press and tours I’ve done and this song lets them know I’m paid and popular instead. The song and video gives people a real look at a normal day in the life for me.”

Drawing from Motown, Prince and The Roots, Charles X’s material blends elements of pop, Hip Hop, jazz, soul, and rock into his own unique musical concoction.
