Meek Mill recently sat down with Elliott Wilson for TIDAL’s CRWN series where he was promoting his new Championships album. During the conversation, Meek reflected on his past beef with Drake and recalled an awkward double date with Beyoncé and JAY-Z.
The Philly-bred rapper was dating Nicki Minaj at the time. As Hov was looking through his playlist, he mistakenly played “Back To Back,” which is, of course, Drake’s diss track aimed at Meek.
“There was one time I was beefing with him, I was sitting at the table — this my first time I was hype as shit — I was with Nicki [Minaj] and shit, we [invited] Hov and Beyoncé to come out and eat with us,” he said. “I’m from the hood, Hov and Beyoncé come eat with us. I’m like, ‘Damn, I’m about to double date with Hov and Beyoncé. This shit is incredible.’
“‘Back to Back’ come on by mistake while we at the table. I’m like, ‘Oh shit, what the fuck?’ So Beyoncé, Hov, and Nicki, everybody just looking like not knowing what the fuck is going on. Like, ‘I gotta take a shit now. I’m like, ‘Goddamn, the fuck?'”

Since then, Drake and Meek have squashed all that noise. Not only did Meek join Drake onstage during the Philly stop on the Aubrey & The Three Amigos Tour in September, but he also collaborated on Meek’s new single “Going Bad” from his recently released Championshipsalbum.
They laugh about the squabble now.
“We even text about that shit,” he told Wilson. “That shit used to give me motivation because I came up off of that.”
