Hip Hop Album Sales: Lil Baby & Gunna's "Drip Harder" Makes Top 5 Billboard 200 Debut

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born soundtrack may have taken the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for the week ending October 11, but Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V is still holding on to the Top 3 after debuting at No. 1 last week.

Elsewhere on the chart, Lil Baby and Gunna’s collaborative project Drip Harder has made an impressive debut in the Top 5, Drake’s Scorpion album takes a five percent dip, moving from No. 5 to No. 8, and T.I. and his DIME TRAP project hit the chart at No. 13.

T.I. wasn’t able to crack the Top 10 with his DIME TRAP project. With 32,108 total album equivalent units sold, 11,918 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 24,650,711, Tip lands at No. 13.

DIME TRAP serves as the Grand Hustle star’s 10th studio album and second installment in a trilogy. Tip’s ninth album, 2014’s Paperwork, debuted at No. 2 with first-week sales of roughly 80,000 units.

Tha Carter V Still In Top III

Despite a 72 percent dive in sales, Lil Wayne’s much anticipated album Tha Carter V lands at No. 3. However, with 135,411 total album equivalent units sold, 162,340 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 155,408,592, it wasn’t enough to hold on to the coveted No. 1 spot.
