The hype for Travis Scott’s long-awaited Astroworld album is reaching a fever pitch. The hopes of Scott’s loyal fans were raised this weekend when producer/engineer extraordinaire Mike Dean teased the LP’s release date.

Dean, who’s been sharing pictures with captions about mixing the album over the past few days, put Scott fans on high alert when he retweeted a post about an August 3 release date. The Twitter user’s post included a video of Dean telling people that they would “shit their pants” after hearing Astroworld.

Dean’s contribution to the hype train comes on the heels of a giant Travis Scott head appearing on top of Amoeba Music in Hollywood. An Amoeba employee told HipHopDX they weren’t aware of any release date though.

“Label person called us, they’e calling it an awareness campaign,” the Amoeba employee said. “There’s no information online or anything. It’s just a fun promo kind of thing.”

If Scott does release Astroworld on August 3, he’ll have plenty of competition for listeners’ attention. YG, Mac Miller and Iggy Azalea are also scheduled to drop projects on Friday.
