Los Angeles, CA

Fresh off of his scene-stealing performance in this summer’s Superfly, the artistic KR has linked with HipHopDX to release his new album, In Due Time a day early.

“I’m excited for this album. It’s my most honest work to date,” the Los Angeles native born Kaalan Walker tells DX of his I$0LYF3 Records via Empire Records release.

“It’s celebrating women which is super important to me and I think people will get to see me for who I am, for the first time. This is the beginning for a new chapter for me in many ways and I’m excited to share that with my fans.”

KR first attracted rap fans a few years ago through a few visible loosies but never fully had the breakout musical rollout he felt he was capable of.

And according to him, there’s a completely logical reason for that.

“I wanted to make a record that was void of fear,” he admits. “In the beginning, I made music that was good but full of fear of myself, people listening or just what people thought I should be doing. This record came together from a place of calm and if you listen closely I’m the surest I’ve been in my career thus far and I wanted the video to reflect that. This is really an anthem for anyone who needs that extra confidence or friend to be like ‘Talk that Shit…’”

The acting bug has also been proven to be most infectious for KR’s career. His role as the main antagonist “Juju” in Superfly showcased his versatility and potential in Hollywood for years to come.
