Tekashi 6ix9ine has managed to avoid jail time in another criminal case. On the heels of receiving probation in his 2015 child sex crime case, the controversial rapper has struck a plea deal in another case in which he was accused of assaulting an NYPD officer.
According to TMZ, 6ix9ine agreed to plead guilty to disorderly conduct. In exchange, prosecutors dropped a misdemeanor assault charge against him.
Lance Lazzaro, the attorney for 6ix9ine, told TMZ the guilty plea for disorderly conduct came with a conditional discharge. The judge reportedly told the Hip Hop provocateur that he could face jail time if he doesn’t stay out of trouble for the next year.
6ix9ine was initially charged with assaulting an officer on May 21. The alleged incident occurred after he was picked up by cops for driving with a suspended license. Police said 6ix9ine squeezed and twisted the hands of a cop who was removing his handcuffs at the 77th Precinct station house on May 20.

6ix9ine was charged with assaulting an officer on May 21. According to police, the rainbow color-haired rhymer squeezed and twisted the hands of a cop who was removing the rapper’s handcuffs at the 77th Precinct station house.
The incident allegedly occurred while he was in custody for driving with a suspended license. On May 20, cops say they stopped 6ix9ine because he was parked in front of a fire hydrant. He was subsequently arrested after officers ran his name through the system and discovered the suspended license.
6ix9ine was facing up to seven years in prison for the felony assault charge. He’ll now face no more than one year.
Despite getting a lesser charge in this case, 6ix9ine has more legal woes to deal with going forward. He was recently arrested in New York for an outstanding warrant in Texas, where he’s accused of choking a teen at a Houston mall.
