Mac Miller is preparing to release SWIMMING, the follow-up to 2016’s The Divine Feminine, on August 3. Ahead of its release, he’s started rolling out material from the project. On Thursday (July 12), Miller shared the first video from the album, “Self Care.”

Directed by Christian Weber, the visual begins with the Pittsburgh native rapping from a coffin, where he takes off a shoe, grabs a cigarette from his sock, strikes a match and smokes it, all while being buried six-feet under. Finally, he punches a hole through the coffin and emerges from a huge pile of dirt.

A few lines from the song had people thinking “Self Care” was about his recent split with pop princess Ariana Grande.

“Well, didn’t know what I was missing/Now I see a lil’ different/We play it cool/We know we fucked up, yeah/You keep on sayin’ you in love, so? Tell me are you really down?” he spits.

But according to TMZ, Miller wrote, produced and finished the track last year when the two were still an item.

Miller and Grande broke up in May after roughly a year and a half of dating. Miller was then arrested for a DUI after crashing his Mercedes into a light pole.

Grande shed a little light into what led to the split on Twitter, calling their relationship “toxic.” She is now engaged to Saturday Night Live actor Pete Davidson.

“Self Care” follows the previously released singles, “Small Worlds, “Buttons” and “Programs,” although “Small Worlds” is the only one that will appear on the upcoming album.
