XXXTENTACION’s Lawyer Thinks Fatal Shooting Was “Random Robbery”

More details are slowly starting to emerge in the fatal shooting of XXXTENTACION, who was killed on Monday (June 18).

According to the Sun-Sentinel, X’s attorney David Bogenschutz believes the Broward County, Florida native was targeted in a “random robbery.”

“I think he went to the bank before it happened,” Bogenschutz said. “I think the determination was that he wanted to buy a motorcycle. But [detectives] aren’t discounting any theory.”

The 20-year-old rapper, who was working on his third studio album Skins, was at RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach when two gunman ran up on him and fired shots at his black BMW i8, striking him. The suspects reportedly fled in a black Dodge Journey.

X was rushed to Broward Health North’s Level 1 trauma unit where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

TMZ reported that one of the alleged gunmen wore a red mask and a Louis Vuitton bag was stolen from X’s vehicle.

A candlelight vigil is being planned for Tuesday night (June 19) near the scene of the crime. Fans have already started to gather outside of the motorcycle dealership where X was a frequent customer. [apple_news_ad type=”any”]

An Instagram post from RIVA Motorsports read, “We will close today at 5 PM in order to join in the vigil to celebrate his life and pay our respects.”

Anonymous tips can be made to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 or online.

    1. I may be wrong but i honestly think this was a robbery. They saw a young black man go to the bank, come out with a bag full of cash, stalked him, shot him ( probably didn’t know fatally) and robbed not knowing who he really was..Sad days for Hip Hop. RIP XXX & JW!

      1. Yeah it was prolly random but I’m thinking they did know who he was at least. X was famous enough I’m guessing most the town knew who he was and that he had money. Between the face tats and hair dude was pretty recognizable.

        1. Not everyone knows him in person, might have heard of him but it moments like this, you dont know who is who plus theirs allot of rappers and regular civilians with colored hair and tattoos.

    2. “I think he went to the bank before it happened” – Did anyone check his pockets for wads of money? Did anyone check the car?

    3. Watched him at the bank then followed him to rob him aka bank jugging. Happens all the time in TX. Could also have been someone at the dealership or someone else in his circle.

    4. I bet you man when or if they ever catch anyone, its is someone that was in his circle, one of his man and them that had something to do with it, that just the way black people get down history have proven that over and over again, that why i do not trust none of them even those so call family, jealous and envyous for no reason man, we call it haters instead of the tho

    5. Man them broke dudes saw him in that i8 and was hating. That little money probably wasn’t nothing to him and he probably would have just handed it over but y’all still popped him smh. Cowards.

    6. Tired of black people celebrating the lives of the ignorant while the lives of the worthy go uncelebrated. Dude sold his soul to coon for money, and it cost him. I’ll save my tears for the dude volunteering at the boys and girls club…

      1. I never liked the kid. But if you can’t say something good about somebody, just shut up.

    7. Nah this shooting was a setup by someone in his circle for cash or over some personal beef. Nothing random about this shooting at all.

    8. His lawyer is definitely scared and has no loyalty at all. I bet the killer is another rapper that he has on retainer

    9. I know something about X’s Death. I saw the two Shooting up straightly to Him whiles I stand down kneeling at the back of Riva Sports Company.
