Kobe Bryant Gives Honest Reaction To Kanye West’s “Slavery Is A Choice” Comments

Kobe Bryant has addressed Kanye West’s slavery comments, and needless to say, he’s just as confused as the rest of us.

The retired basketball great was speaking to a group of students in Los Angeles when he was asked what he thought about West’s “slavery is a choice” comments.

Bryant told the 14-year-old student that his initial response was to ask himself, “what the hell are you talking about?” and said that this was probably the reaction that the rest of us had, as well.

He then went on to clarify that “completely disagreed” with West’s statements, but was also quick to add that he was entitled to say whatever he felt was right because “that’s the beautiful part about living in a democracy.”

Bryant then said that, conversely, when you say what you want to say, you have to be willing to accept what others say in response, “because everyone has the right to say what they feel.” He said that West is someone who is doing “a lot of questioning” about himself and using that questioning to elevate his thought process.

“So I just take it for what it is, and completely disagree,” Bryant concluded.

    1. Not that Kanye is right—but who cares about Kobe’s opinion about anything except basketball??

      1. Why can’t people have opinions about other things? If there are things happening in the country he lives in, then he has a right to give his two cents like everyone else.

        1. It’s not so much that Kobe can’t have opinion—he’s entitled to that. But what he thinks about anything except basketball is not more newsworthy or relevant than your opinion or mine. Just saying.

    2. He means that’s the plantations had so many black people as slaves and them pussies easily could have over turned their owners. But they were pussies and chose to be slaves

      1. Them pussies….coming from a coward commenting online that didn’t have to endure anything remotely close to slavery. Sad how muthaf&ckas talk crazy in the Internet. Maybe you need to read the hundreds of failed slave revolts, or slaves being born into slavery and not knowing anything else, etc, etc, etc. But I guess they are pussies, while you sit here and let this same Country shit on you and people like you and the most you do is talk shit online….smh

    3. Does Kobe know how much money the NBA made off of his physical labour (in basketball)? It;s literally a drop in the bucket.

    4. Thank you Kobe. You see nobody wants to talk about all the white men that feared slaves like Dr. John and The Zombie King and Queen Nanny the list goes on and on. Voodoo doctors was putting so much craft on slave owners government had to pass laws to out law African religion. Because they were scared of it and still are. Lol
