Lil Wayne has apologized for disappointing fans who came to see his headlining set at Rolling Loud on Sunday night (May 13).

He was expected to perform as one of the three headliners for the festival but fans were instead met with the following message:

Wayne was spotted at club LIV Friday night (May 11) with Birdman, but was reportedly hit by illness before his show on Sunday.

The festival also released a statement on Wayne’s absence:

Last night, Lil Wayne fell unexpectedly ill ahead of his set time and had to cancel his appearance at Rolling Loud Miami. We apologize to the fans and hope that some of the special guest appearances throughout the weekend, such as Meek MillNicki MinajDiddy, A$AP Rocky, hometown hero DJ Khaled, the Waffle House Hero, and the two baristas fired by Duke made for an enjoyable experience. We have a longstanding and healthy partnership with Lil Wayne and his team, and look forward to continuing to work with him and having him on a Rolling Loud stage in the near future.

Earlier in May, Lil Wayne announced the return of his Lil Weezyana Fest, which will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Tha Carter III. The festival is scheduled for August 25.
