The man responsible for the fatal shooting of D-12 rapper Proof was sentenced Thursday, October 26, 2006.

Mario Etheridge was sentenced on Thursday, with time served and
a $2,000 fine, after being convicted last month for carrying a concealed weapon
and discharging a firearm in an occupied structure.

28-year-old Etheridge, who has been contained since the
April 11th shooting, faced a maximum penalty of five years in prison
for the weapon possession and four years for the firing.

Etheridge was not tried for murder, as prosecutor Kym Worthy
decided against pursuing such charges.

Etheridge has been released since the sentencing.

Mobb Deep’s Prodigy and producer The Alchemist were arrested Wenesday,
October 26th in New York for gun possession, after being stopped for
making an illegal u-turn.

Prodigy was
driving the SUV on West 30th around 2:15 am, when he made a U-Turn
on to Ninth Avenue against the flow of traffic, according to the New York Post.

A search of the vehicle found a .22 caliber handgun in the
front console.

Both The Alchemist
and Prodigy were charged with
criminal possession of a weapon.
