Jhené Aiko is giving back over the holiday season.

She’s launching a new charitable organization called the WAYS Foundation — an acronym for Why Aren’t You Smiling — in honor of her older brother, Miyagi, who passed away from a brain tumor at 26.

“With our newly launched WAYS Foundation, we will continue this Christmas tradition of donating to a family in need, as well as give back in numerous ways throughout the years to come in an effort to help bring hope, comfort, compassion and financial assistance to those affected by cancer,” Aiko wrote on Instagram.

Aiko’s first donation of $15,000 went to five-year-old Lily Olive of Eagle Rock, California, who is currently getting treatment for a rare form of leukemia.

The singer-songwriter shared some photos of her trip to visit Lily’s family on Instagram.

Aiko’s WAYS Foundation isn’t her first philanthropic endeavor. The singer-songwriter kicked off her #PennysPen campaign in October in an attempt to encourage young people to express themselves through writing.

Lily’s brother has also set up a GoFundMe to raise more money for her cancer treatments.
