Kevin Clark: Old-school beef that I’m pretty sure that you can’t Google online anymore. All I know is that Rakim needs to come back with it. Ole Bumpy isn’t the nicest cat in the world… but is pure nails on the mic.
WKetchumIII: I once worked on this Halloween project with another site, where we asked artists who the most feared rapper was. Freddie Foxx was right up there with Suge Knight.
On Snoop and Dre working together again…

Kevin Clark: That’s some WWE Pay-Per-View shit right there. But one thing I know Suge can’t really be banking on is the fact that Snoop and Dre are at it again for another collaborative effort.
WKetchumIII: Word? I didn’t even know that…Snoop has been falling off for a while, but I think Dre can bring the best out of him.
Kevin Clark: “Vato” wasn’t that bad of a joint. But Dre always has that magic. It’ll be interesting to see if they’ll sell units off of their rep alone.
WKetchumIII: Yeah. They’re both legends, but like you said, it’ll be interesting to see how relevant they are to today’s market. Snoop is still an icon, though, so they’ll be good if they put out a hot single

On Hip-Hop losing out to Hip-Pop…
Kevin Clark: A single that everyone seems to be loving is Justin Timberlake’s”Sexyback”… What’s with “Hip-Pop” taking over?
WKetchumIII: Word to Bol Crawford, “Sexyback” is a shit sandwich. The rest of the album is really hot though. But it’s just all about these producers – i.e. Timbaland – diversifying their sound.

On Lupé Fiasco having Best Album of the Year…

WKetchumIII: But you know who is a new name in the game? Lupe Fiasco…dude was the leading seller at Best Buy his opening week.
Kevin Clark: Lupé is a busy guy. I wrapped up an interview with him for HHDX and he talks about his feelings about his album being leaked before the album finally dropped. What do you think of it?

WKetchumIII: I don’t normally say this without a few years of shelf value, but I really do think this is a classic album. Dude is really bringing something new… definitely the best album of the year, creeping above Ghostface’s and The Roots.
On Beanie Sigel no longer down with the Roc…

Kevin Clark: I would agree. But you know with every new birth there is a death. It’s kind of sad to see Beanie Sigel no longer on the Roc.
WKetchumIII: Yeah, it is. But at the same time, he always seemed a lot more independent than the rest of the crew. Aside from Jay and maybe Freeway, he was the only member who I could ever see elsewhere.

Kevin Clark: But can he make it off of that strength alone?
WKetchumIII: Well, he’s actually a dope artist, which always helps. But depending on who he rolls with, I think he can really make some moves, as long as the label handles him correctly. As long as he can stay out of that cell, he should be in good shape. Basically, he needs to do the exact opposite of DMX.
