While XXL magazine has given out more XL ratings
than we can count, few have gotten the coveted classic rating in their
magazine.

This month, Hip Hop can add Pusha T and Malice, collectively known as The Clipse to that elite group.
Their sophomore album, Hell Hath No Fury (which has been pushed back further than an elderly man’s hair line) is hailed as a classic in this month’s issue (The Game graces the cover).

The
article praises the group for going against the grain of today’s Hip
Hop (something XXL attributes to Jive’s delayed release of the
album).  Malice and Pusha T are praised for not weighing the album down with guest appearances and for crafting 12 tracks that
are “pure, uncut dope.”

The album’s standouts according to the review are Momma I’m So Sorry, the Bilal assisted Nightmares and Keys Open Doors.

Also gone from the album is the traditional, spaced out Neptunes sound that fans have come to know and love, replaced with dark, gritty beats that best suits The Clipse persona.

So is Hell Hath really a classic? XXL thinks so. The rest of us will have to weigh in after it drops.
