Freddie Gibbs will not be releasing another new album, even though a recent Instagram post of him and his daughter would make for a great album cover.

Gibbs posted the image Sunday (May 7) with a caption saying “new album coming soon,” but was just playing.

When some outlets started picking up the news as an actual album announcement, the You Only Live 2wice rapper’s management quickly shut down the reports as “fake news.”

…before joking again that Gibbs’ daughter’s album is the real release.

Even though Gibbs just dropped his You Only Live 2wice album last month, back-to-back album releases are hot right now. Future dropped two albums on consecutive Fridays earlier this year, Kendrick was rumored to be dropping a secret follow-up to DAMN. (but didn’t, obviously) and Rick Ross announced the follow-up to his Rather You Than Me album almost immediately after the first project’s release.
