Beverly Hills, CA

Vic Mensa’s autobiography just got a new chapter. The Roc Nation rapper pleaded no contest to carrying a concealed weapon and received two years of probation, according to TMZ. The second count of carrying an unregistered loaded firearm was dropped.

The Chicago native was originally facing two years in jail, but through a plea deal, was able to get away with the probation, a $500 fine and $1,325 in restitution.

Mensa was stopped by police in Beverly Hills, California four months ago for running a stop sign. The officer discovered he was carrying a loaded, unregistered handgun without a concealed weapons permit, and promptly arrested him. After serving one night in jail, he posted $35,000 bail.

Mensa is being prosecuted for carrying a loaded, unregistered handgun and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. He is scheduled for a court hearing next month.

The 23-year-old rapper was reportedly pulled over after cruising through the hills for running a stop sign and illegal tints. Authorities then found a loaded gun inside the car. Mensa provided a concealed carry permit, but it was for another state. He spent one night in jail before posting $35,000 bail.
