Add another athlete rapper to the list as San Diego Chargers linebacker Melvin Ingram shared his Franchise Tag mixtape last week. He’s rapping under the name SupaMel and this isn’t his first project. He released three tracks in the summer of 2015.
But Franchise Tag comes after Ingram was slapped with a franchise tag from the Chargers, who will be moving to Los Angeles next season. This means they are maintaining the rights to his contract for a year and removing him from the free agency market.
Franchise Tag is made up of 11 tracks featuring Stacks, Young Vet and Five Star with production from Deemoney.
Ingram follows Le’Veon Bell, who reportedly got Snoop Dogg on a track for his own project. The NBA is also chock-full of ballers who wanna be rappers, including Damian Lillard and Iman Shumpert.
