Florida rapper XXXTENTACION is set to release his debut project this spring backed by Empire distribution, according to a press release.
The project is called Bad Vibes and comes after XXX has gained notoriety through a handful of SoundCloud hits including the controversial “Look At Me.” This is the song that the 19-year-old rapper accused Drake of jacking for an unreleased song the Toronto superstar previewed on a stop of his Boy Meets World Tour.
XXXTENTACION is currently in jail awaiting trial on felony charges including battery and false imprisonment after he allegedly beat up his pregnant girlfriend.
In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, he commented on another Florida rapper, Kodak Black, who recently found himself back in jail. XXX says that authorities “set him up” when Project Baby violated his probation after attending a strip club and a boxing match.
“He had permission to go to that boxing match,” he said. “As far as that strip club, I’m not sure how that went. But all of these things are used as marketing methods, which can be considered work.”
